I used to have one of these but it died and I'm sad! 99.9% of all ergonomic keyboards are designed wrong, and it drives me bonkers!

You see I was taught to type way back when computers were not something normal average everyday people played with! I used an old-fashioned typewriter! If you were taught to type, then your fingers are trained to go to certain letters/numbers... and this has been ingrained in my brain since 1974!

If you know what I'm talking about then you know that the right hand pointer finger is supposed to go for that danged "6" key in the upper number row! And on the average ergonomic keyboard my right pointer finger strikes the empty space at split instead!!! VERY ANNOYING!!!

Here's how it is supposed to work for you hunt-n-peckers. The left hand pinky does ` and 1, ring 2, middle 3, pointer 4 and 5. The right hand pointer does 6 and 7, middle 8, ring 9, pinky 0 and -. Course the right pinky now has more to do because of the + and |. Computer keyboards have more keys than old typewriters, and some of the symbols have been rearranged. So I understand WHY they did the split the way they did, because it makes it even. But my left pointer finger just can't accurately do 4, 5 and 6 - that reach for 6 throws my whole hand off "home," which is where my hand should rest at all times.

ONE company had the split right, but I can't find them online and the store where I got it (Sam's Club) doesn't carry it anymore! And I've never found another since! (Don't ask me the name of the company that produced the correct design... when the keyboard gave up the ghost, I did an extensive online serach for the company and similiar keyboard back then... but nada. The dead (but adored) keyboard has since been thrown out!)

HELP!!!
