Hi. The search and notify function will be very useful for me, so I've started to use it. Unfortunatately, it returns only a small portion of the results it should return. I notice a few older posts regarding search problems, but assume I'm doing something wrong.

Here's an example. I create a search with the single word "docuprint" in the "Search all the words" box. Everything else is defaulted. When I run the search, I get 1 hit. If I change the results order to "Newly listed items first" I get 5 hits.

I should get 141 hits, the number I get from an e-bay search for "docuprint".

Any ideas?

Hmm, that's odd. I wonder why the search would only come up with a very small segment of the items.

Maybe somebody knows of another tool out there which will search on a regular basis and advise me when an item is listed. I'd like to be able to list a variety of searches, then get an e-mail when something becomes available. My company needs, for example, some unusual test and measurement equipment, but is in no hurry to obtain it. The equipment comes up for auction every now and then. I don't want to have to do a bunch of searches every few days. The sniper daily search-and-email would be perfect, if it worked!

Like Mrs.M, I only use eBay search.

Maybe you didn't realize eBay can do exactly what you want?

You can have up to 30 daily searches, and have eBay email you if it finds an item you haven't been notified of. If it does not find a new item no email is sent. You can set email searches to last up to one year.
