i just received the most unprofessional, just plain rude reply i've ever gotten in print, so to speak - and from an auctionsniper.com support staff member. without going into the details (my emails from this fellow can stand on their own), i just need to know where to send letters of complaint. anybody have the CEO's name and address? is auctiva owned by ebay? i will certainly write to ebay people because their company is, at least, closely associated with auctionsniper.com, but i would appreciate some advice. thanks, allen

Allen, I don't think eBay owns Auctiva. PayPal, yes, but not Auctiva. And AuctionSniper is in no way affiliated with or governed by eBay, so a complaint in that direction wouldn't accomplish much. Here's a little info for you:

AuctionSniper.com
119 Broadway St. #217
Chico, CA 95928-5349
Business Phone:
530-892-9191 Voice
530-892-9494 Fax

I suppose that a written complaint directed to that address might get where it needs to go. If you'll take my advice, make the complaint as impersonal and objective as you can. Angry words don't usually get favorable action. That goes double if you decide to make a phone call.
steve, thanks for your advice; duly consumed and yes, i think you're right on both counts.

something kind of wild just happened, though: someone else from the support staff replied after the first fellow's outrageous comments to me - but in the preceding emails from me and from the support staff, two were deleted - most notably the staff member's aggressive words to me. luckily, i recorded them so i can give/send them to someone higher up. i still think ebay is a route for me, particularly as i knew meg whitman in college. i can't imagine ebay will be pleased to learn one of their auction-related companies' (even if they don't own them) support employees is putting out such threatening words. a curious kind of support!

I agree with Steve, you're wasting your time talking to Ebay as they have nothing to do with AS. It would be like writing to one Mr Bush to complain about a bad Big Mac you've just eaten.

I guess from their actions that they are 'dealing' with their support person who sent the messages in question - so a balanced letter from you should warrant at least an apology and a few free snipes.

[Remember that some programmers are not renowned for their people-skills so sometimes you have to be a bit tolerent! I know, I am one!!!]
We closed and merged 5 support cases into 1 since they were on all the same thing.

Much as in the same way you put the same thing here in 3 different threads, in 3 different areas.

I'm closing this thread and providing a link to the other so that this discussion can continue in one thread if needed.
