I read a long string of back & forth about reserve auctions, but don't have a clear answer to one simple question:

A car is currently bid up to $10,000, but the site says RESERVE NOT MET. I don't know what the reserve is, but I put in a snipe for $15,000. If the reserve is $12,000, will AuctionSniper enter that as my bid?

AS will place only one snipe, and that will be for your full amount; in this case it will be for $15,000. If at the time of your snipe, the current price (the high proxy bid might be higher) is still at $10,000, and no other snipes are placed, you will win the auction at $12,000. You will also see that the price goes from $10,000 to $12,000 and not an incremental amount.

There’s no way for AS to know what the reserve is, and even if it could, AS would still place your full bid amount (in case of other last second snipers).
