My bid was not placed by AS, despite the fact that it is listed as a win and I was charged.
I had already set the snipe through AS, but just happened to be at my computer as the auction ended. Given all of the AS difficulties lately, I decided to snipe manually, since last week I lost an item when a bid was never placed. I manually sniped with 20 seconds left, which ended up being the winning bid. I expected that AS would still snipe for me, and I would still be charged. No problem there.
However, the only bid that appears from me in the bid history is my own manual snipe with 20 seconds left. My AS snipe, set to bid with 10 seconds left, never occurred. In fact, for some time after the auction had ended, the snipe still showed in my folder as "ready." Today it appears as if AS placed the snipe.
I seem to recall in the past when I sniped manually with an AS snipe already in place, both of my bids appeared in the bid history, seconds apart. I was charged by AS and expect to be, but in this case I get the impression that, like last week, I would have lost this item, had I not sniped manually. Thanks.
