Really "big" first snipe needs reassurance

Greetings;

I joined AS because I wanted to avoid a bidding war for an expensive item. I am all set up. I think. The max bid is in. The system worked fine as I tested it on a few buys just to see if it would work. But I remain really nervous since I am new to the AS system and I have serious cash in on my Snipe and I... I.... well you get it. I'm nervous because I really want this thing. Any last minute things I should check that I may have inadvertently forgotten? Thanks for your help. Nervous Nellie

Yes I did, and will now read it again just to be on the safe side. My post is perhaps a bit more touchy feely than that. It's more like the mad doctor in "Marathon Man"... is it safe? Is it safe? Is it safe? Can you tell I am in the movie business

If its that serious, I'd suggest a manual snipe as near to the end as you can get. Probably about ten seconds on Broadband, 30s on dialup.

AS is not "zero error" software - especially on a Sunday!

The only downside is that if your manual bid wins, you will still have to pay the AS fee.

"manual snipe" and the problem with that is I'll be arriving in Las Vegas just as the auction closes. If I bid from my ebay page on my ebay acct. will AS bid it up against me? Do you prefer manual sniping in a tight situation in genral such as I have described?
