Assuming that there isn't a proxy higher bid issue with an eBay auction and that therefore the current price displayed is the maximum that the current winning bidder wishes to pay. What happens if two snipers were to schedule snipes for 5secs prior to close?

Would both snipes get placed, with the result that the higher sniper would pay just enough above the lower sniper to win, or would the lower sniper's snipe not get placed at all, with the result that the final selling price is far lower than if everyone used eBay proxy bidding.

Cheers

Both snipes are placed. The one willing to pay the most should win.
The only time that will not happen is if the higher bid is after the lower bid AND the higher bid is not a full bid increment above the second highest bid. (Then the higher bid is rejected by eBay as invalid)

And Welcome to the forum.
