The acronym gets 6,440 hits in Google. But, since it gets so many hits, that must mean it's wrong (I mean that - "prevailing wisdom" is an oxymoron). But, I do show references as early as 1500's.

Oh the joys of a forum and internet. Imagine the days when people had to look this kind of stuff up in library, or worst, remember it.

The OW quotes Rick listed above reminded me of this story:

A reporter was interviewing a successful businessman, and asked him to what he attributed his success?

Just an observation. Wasn't sure if anyone noticed it. Just found it curious.

P.S. I'm glad you started this topic. Before you did, people seemed a little bit uptight about private topics.

Is my topic about Nothing, bigger than my topic about Something?

It would be funny if the nothing topic was more interesting than my something topic. Sometimes I want to write about something but have nowhere to put it, now I wouldnt know whether to put in under Something or Nothing.

I am currently having an email arguement with a seller who seems to think he knows more about the australian postal system than I do. I dont think so Chum!!

Its a good outlet for some pent up agression though and it does save me from *kicking the cat* (ohh - I realised that may be an aussie-ism - kicking the cat is a saying...I DONT actually kick my cats Smile )

Puppy - The 6 thing definately works, but I can keep it going if I concentrate, LOL I am one of those ppl that can pat my head and rub my tummy at the same time, with either hand.

Well the weather burea have done an outstanding job again!! They have JUST started broadcasting the Severe Wind and Storm Warning - NEWS FLASH - its all ready here dorks!!!!

I have just retrieved my washing from the horse paddocks Confused and battened down the hatches so to speak. LOL Last time one of these little fella's hit - we lost 15 HUGE trees. 1 just missing the house. That was at our last place though, here we only have a few huge Gum Trees around the house. Should be pretty safe.
I seriously hate all the dust thats blowing around though!!

Guess you lot have all gone to bed now Roll Eyes

...in Public Privates. This is an appropriate topic to ask a question or two about Private Topics, right? Is it possible to ADD an ID to an ongoing Private Topic, or do all the users IDs need to be designated when the topic is set up? I would think maybe Lexie or Rick might know?

Hey, can you answer another question? Do you know if there's a limit to the number of graphics you can put in a post? And how does it affect AS's bandwidth/memory/processing speed? Forums, I mean -- I know AS Proper is separate from Infopop.

I found a site that has a smiley alphabet, and I'm wondering if I can do all seven letters in my sig...
