Proxy and AS, will AS Realize I am currently winning?

Ok, new here, got a question... If I have already bid on and Item, and put a proxy bid up to nearly the max I am willing to pay, can I setup my snipe to pay slightly higher than my proxy?

If so, is the AS System intelligent enough to know that I am the current winning bidder on an item, and not get in a bidding war with my ebay proxy that is already setup?

It would be totally rediculous to bid against myself, obviously, but I thought I would check before I let AS do it's thing...

Yes.

It’s pretty clever, so it will still place your snipe because it figures you know what you're doing.
