This appeared today in an Amateur Photographer Magazine forum:

"My brother put this up for sale on EBay ... and has sold one to an American and another to someone in Australia!

I've heard of making money from old rope, but this is ridiculous!

Cynical Sam"

I didn't mention the American sale in the title as`I think most Australians are quite used to "Pommy" abuse and can take it!

More a destructive gardener.

I am allowed to do the mowing & strimming.

We have a very steep river bank at the bottom of the garden and I spend many an (un)happy hour strimming the weeds & nettles!

The children & their friends when they were small used to sit on plastic rubbish sacks and slide down to the bottom, nearly ending in the river much to the horror of visiting parents.
That used to keep the weeds & nettles down a lot!

Paul,

Earlier today you said, ‘Speaking in my schoolmasterly mode ...”. Are you called principle (perhaps it’s called a head master?), or are you a teacher?

No, not personally, rick, but I do enjoy someone elses gardening. As an English/German person, the sun is not kind to my complexion. And, that makes a great excuse not to work in a garden! Rick, do you like to garden?
“English/German”? Need another slash there, or isn’t American an accepted species - well, outside of America (how come America got “America”? There’s North, which also has Canada, Greenland, and Mexico, and there’s also Central, and South).

Do I like to garden? You bet, as long as someone else is doing the actual gardening? I’m definitely in management on that particular employment.

Mrs. M,

I know how reluctant you are to talk about your beliefs, but do you have any superstitions? You know, things like black cats and salt over the shoulder?

No,I don't have any. Do you? ( and if someone here throws the salt, they better get down and clean it up! Wink )
Well, I do have one I strongly believe in ever since the end of July 2003. I’m convinced that the number 13 is bad luck. Just look at what the 13th letter in the alphabet is, Mrs. M!
Say, Mrs. M. Care to share your insight into why both you and Paul (aka Camera) deleted all those posts in the following thread?

I know you’re an old hand at that, but it seemed a little strange that Camera would join in. He deleted 3 and you deleted 5. I guess it was a good thing he couldn’t delete the original post, but could only edit it.

Oh well – I guess I’ll never understand that British sense of humour.

So, what do you have planned today?

Private messages m'boy Private messages!

We plotted together, dived in and whipped them out quick as a flash before you could catch us!

We then did cartwheels down the road (Mrs M is faster) shouting "we did it, we did it!"

We were then both arrested, but that's another story!
Well, you did everything but answer the question for Mrs. M.

Apparently I’m not explaining myself. I avoid private messages. Come on out and talk in public, Mr. Private.

Otherwise, a funny post.
