Hello,
AS was working fine then they went and messed it all up! I've found a number of problems with this new interface.

Some of the bigger issues include:

-I always see thumbnails even though I turned that feature off

-When I change the order of the snipes, and then try to modify the top snipe, it modifies the bottom one instead

And some minor annoyances I've discovered include:

-The previous interface (header, snipe info, etc) looked a lot cleaner/more professional

-When modifying a snipe, it would be more practical to have the info open in a new window or a separate page (like before), so that you do not have to load all your snipes twice (once while you are modifying it, again after you modify it) every time you change one of them

-The auctions which end earliest default to displaying on the bottom; it would be more practical to have them at the top, like they were before

-I can only click on the title of the auction to open the item in a new window (clicking on the thumbnail/auction sniper logo used to work but now it doesn't)

Are there plans to resolve these issues?

Thanks

... you guys are working out the kinks as we speak, right?

I really miss the cookies not being kept in the buffer and changing the snipe amount is rather painful, since you never know which one will pop up with an editing box when modify is clicked. Plus it does make more sense to list the snipes in order of ones ending first then going on down. When I switch the order to see the list that way all hell seems to break loose as a result.

You AS folks are great! Please don't fix what isn't broken.
Hi, How are you?

We are sorry about the problems. As you may know we went thru a total change in the site, and problem as these are espected but we are working hard to provide you with solutions, some of them are listed below:

> -I always see thumbnails even though I turned that feature off.

This have been fixed. Aparently not all the preferences of the users were loaded, but there are now. Let us know if the problem persist any way.

It seems that the reason for changing this , is that we had some request before that people that wanted to see their other items while editing a current one so the can orginize their bids and decided how much to bid in which right away. Personally, I like it because is all in one page, sometime I feel anoyed when everything is in a new page. However, you guys are the bosses here Big Grin , so I'll put this as a comment for the web developers Smile

- This has also been fized Wink

>I can only click on the title of the auction to open the item in a new window (clicking on the thumbnail/auction sniper logo used to work but now it doesn't)

- Great report! I've notified the developers and it should be fixed within and hour. However, notice that you can also click in the item number. So you should be able to click on the title, the image and the item number.

>I also now have the added problem of my login not being "remembered".

- There is an issue, when you sign in, you get redirected to the "My Snipes" page, if you go back to the home page, the signin box will still be there but you can come back to "My Snipes" page without signing in... Unles you sign out off course... This is confusing and we know it. These details are being worked on as I write this message.

Well, that is for now. I'll keep you informed of any other mayor changes.

Thanks for your patience! Wink

Hello,
Thanks for looking into these suggestions/issues. As of right now, the problems are still there, but I look forward to them being fixed.

As for this issue:

...you might consider adding an option so that the user can choose if they want to see all snipes during modification, or if they want to do the modifications on a different page (or perhaps a separate pop-up window). That way everyone can be happy Cool

Eek

My sniper page still defaults to soonest auctions at the bottom of the page. So I change it, with them at the top. And I want to modify a bid, say, 3rd from now). when I click on "modify", the page gets reordered (Latest to soonest), and whichever of the LATER auctions occupies that position comes up with the modification boxes. That is, THIRD FROM MOST CHRONOLOGICALLY DISTANT.
So, to modify, I have reorder (latest to soonest), scroll DOWN to "now", and modify something at the bottom of the list.

Of course, then the page must refresh, and I can't go on to anything else.

I see this item in several other posts, but don't want to see it missed by the "bid order comments".
I have four items currently on my snipper list. Now that you have corrected the issue where the soonest to close is back on top, when I click on the modify for that item in order to raise my bid, the three boxes open up on the wrong item. Usually the second one on the list. This is causing me to change the bid on the wrong item!
When I cancel the change the items on the list end up in a different order. IT took me four tries to change the item that I really wanted to change and I think I messed up some of the other items on my list. I've been in the computer field for 15 years and understand that change can be painful, but I hope you have beta testers out there when you make MAJOR changes such as this last revamp.

Question/FAQ #18: I paid with Money Order/check/PayPal, where can I see my balance?
Answer:
Sign in and click the "My Wins" link under the My Snipes tab and scroll down. Your balance will be displayed at the bottom of the page.

My balance doesn't show at all - just the charges accrued for successful snipes. Is this temporary? Can't tell when to send funds without a balance to check against.

Hello,
I still have a question which hasn't yet been answered; why did AS go and change everything when it was apparently working fine? Did you lose a lot of data and have to start over or something like that?
Also, if the system will be unavailable for a long period of time, please give us more notice (if you can), so that we can plan ahead

Thanks,

Rabbit
The system is available now. It was unavailable for only a few hours very early Thursday morning.

The changes were necessary and will allow us to build in a lot of new features we've wanted to before but couldn't due to the way the old site was programmed. The new architecture based on .NET technology will allow us to add those features we've wanted to and to scale the site and make it more redundant and robust.

Thank you
we all know the system went down and had to be upgraded/changed over. What we (the user base) wants to know is WHY it went down so suddenly, WHY we weren't warned it was going to happen (so we could manually snipe if necessary) and WHY the new system is so buggy/untested. In other words, what made this changeover so absolutely HAD TO HAPPEN NOW--hardware failure? Software failure? Programmer get hit by a bus? Someone forgot to pay the server farm? I think really we are all just looking for answers and trying to understand the WHY, not just the WHAT.
