Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum and to auction snipe as well. I love it so far!
My question right now is mostly for buyers I guess. I was browsing around and looking at wireless networking kits on Ebay and saw that one gentleman had a private feedback rating. His prices were good on his wireless routers and his page was neat, concise with plenty of good pictures and details about the product, but there is just no way I'm bidding on something that I can't view feedback on.
Am I just being picky, or is this something that is too risky to bid on without seeing what other people may have complained about in the past?
He did have 6 complaints, out of about 256 feedback. Not much...but still.
Thanks for any tips/advice.

Hi, Sabrina! Welcome aboard! I've noticed the "private feedback" feature also, and so far as I'm concerned the only reason a buyer or seller would opt to take advantage of that is to hide something. I think your suspicions may be well-founded. I wouldn't trust the guy with the family fortune, let's put it that way. Eek

could be that the guy has had his account hijacked (the evil people tend to attack accounts with a good high-value feedback rating), so the person selling the wireless kit is not the true owner of the account, but the current hacker "owner" has made the feedback private so that you cannot see that normally this account sells cute pink fluffy teddy bears (for example) instead of wireless LAN kit. Common tactic of the evil hackers I believe. You could do a "by seller" search, including completed items, and that should show you what sort of stuff this account has been selling up till now. If networky stuff for a month or more then it's probably fine; if it's cuddly teddy bears until a week ago then stay away!
Thanks for the advice! Especially about checking past sales. I never even thought of doing that.
I tried checking his private feedback using the link that you gave (which is a great tool to have for buyers and sellers alike!), but it won't give feedback for private either.
Thanks again and take care!

Sabrina
