Placing snipe without making a bid on e bay

I did not place a bid in E Bay for the item, but just went in to snipe, can we do it that way

Not only “can” but “should”. The main advantage of sniping is not to let anyone know you are interested in the item. It cuts down on bidding wars, nibblers and all kinds of unsavory bidding characters.

Now, you can always be signed-on to ebay while your snipe is being placed, if you are interested in watching the auction.

Hello and welcome.
The only time to put a small token bid is on some item you want and it has no bids at all on it. If you are afraid the person may withdraw the item without having one bid. Any other time, use AS Only. Also, do read up on the Bid Group folders.
They are the ultimate way to save $$$$.
