Yet another unconfirmed address thing.

I live in Sweden and have (no suprise) a unconfirmed address. It's realy bugging me and prevents me from alot of sweet deals. I have a vald Visa card and no PO box address but to no vail.

I just gotta know, do anyone outside US region have a confirmed address? Are there any other options for us to get another confirmation?

I'm in the UK and my Status is:
UK - Verified

This means

What does 'Verified' mean?
This means that you have completed your enrolment in the Verification Programme. Your Sending and Withdrawal Limits have been lifted.

Is becoming Verified safe?
Yes. PayPal uses military-strength encryption to keep your account information safe. As always, PayPal will never reveal any of your personal information.

My address is:
Home Confirmed

Confirmed Addresses

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is a Confirmed Address?
A buyer's Confirmed Address is checked against the credit card billing address maintained by his or her credit card company.

How is address confirmation useful?
Address confirmation is useful because it provides a way for a seller to verify a buyer's identity. Postage to a confirmed address, however, is not a requirement for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy since not all PayPal users are able to confirm their addresses. If a transaction is eligible for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy, a seller must post to the address found on the Transaction Details page (regardless of whether that address is confirmed or not). For transactions that are ineligible for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy, we recommend that a seller posts to a buyer's Confirmed Address.

What is an Unconfirmed Address?
An unconfirmed address is any address which is not associated with a credit card or which has not been Verified by PayPal. Most non-US addresses cannot be confirmed at this time because many international credit card platforms do not support methods to do so.

I have also made that "completed your enrolment in the Verification Programme" Only benefit I got out of it was to remove the limit of money transfer.

Further down in PayPal info we have the all important part:

This might be obvious, but when you bid on something, nobody knows if you are confirmed/verified or not!

If they say US purchasers only, I always email them first saying that I have so many positives, no negs and lots of successful US purchases. I have only had two refusals in four years. They are worried, quite naturally, about fraud and if you can put their fears at rest, most people are only too pleased to let you bid - after all it raises the end price.

The other thing is that even if they are adamant that they will "ship only to the US" that doesn't preclude you buying. I get a friend in LA to post things on!

That does need a bit of a qualifier. On lower priced items, one can probably be less concerned about being stung.

I sell both, rick. I am an eBay "Power Seller". I have sold several things in the thousands. I just think it is a bit silly to worry about it. There are sounder ways of protecting yourself, using good business sense. I personally cannot imagine getting very much protection from eBay. This is, in my opinion, a protection for their own fees.

Maybe you can help me out with something. Aren’t there levels of “Power Seller”? And, what are the qualifications to be a “Power Seller”? Isn’t a lot of it to do with paying ebay fees on time and keeping a certain percentage of positive feedbacks?

Yes and also the amount you sell. The lowest is, I believe, three thousand average for three months.
PowerSeller membership is FREE to qualified sellers. eBay automatically invites qualified sellers via email.
