I won a item on ebay, I want to pay for it with my credit card ( via paypal ) when I go to pay it only gives me the options of funds in my paypal account, funds in my bank account, or echeck ( same as funds in bank account )

when I go thru the paypal help section, all I can find is something about you may or may not be able to pay for item with a credit card if you have funds in your paypal account, I do have funds in my paypal account, but I would rather fund this particular item on my credit card that I have on file with them.
any ideas??

Hint.. before you pay, send any balance to your checking or wherever you normally withdraw and deposit it. Then go in and watch carefully it will say at the left, at the point just before you pay..other options.. or something simular to that...click there and then choose the listed card you wish to use. If you don't, it will always withdraw any balance in your paypal first and draw from your listed checking, second.
thanks, but I want to keep the funds in my account at this time, I saw the " other options " on the left that is where it gives me the echeck or bank funds option. I always keep funds in my paypal account, however I want to use my credit card on this particular item, basically because I dont 100% trust the seller, and if I get ripped off I can file a claim with my credit card company and get reimbursed
I had a experiance ( non ebay ) where I paid a guy for a item with paypal, he never sent item, I filed a claim with paypal and they did the investigation and it came out in my favor, but the guy had no funds in his account, so they basically told me I was out of luck, they did say if i would of funded it with my credit card I could of got reimbursed thru them, so I am wanting to use my credit card for this reason, but it wont let me
well 4 days later I get a response from paypal.
BTW i did end up paying with my paypal funds and received the item today, all is good

here is the paypal response

Thank you for contacting PayPal. We apologize for the delay in
responding to your service request.

When you have a balance in your PayPal account, this is the default
method of payment. The only way not to use the balance is to send an
eCheck, or you may withdraw the funds into the Bank Account on file to
be able to use your credit card.

If you have funds in your PayPal Account balance that you do not want
to use towards your transactions, you can make an eCheck payment. An
eCheck payment always takes the full payment amount from your bank
account and does not use the funds from your PayPal Account. This is
the only way to send a payment and maintain your PayPal balance.
Glad everything worked out ok for you. I knew that was the way paypal worked Jet. However, if you choose echeck, it normally takes up to 4 business days to clear, I think. At least when someone sends me one for payment there is a 4 day hold on it. Not sure if that is because they don't have a credit card backup or if it is always that way.
