Paying with GBP??

I'm sure this is not a new question but I can't find
an old answer! I want to bid on a British auction
that is listed in GBP but my snipe isn't accepted.
Can I bid in US$ and have it translated or will the
bid think that my US$ is actually GBP? That would
be very expensive!! How can I do this please, and
thanks for your help.

Your snipe will be in the currency of the auction. Just like you were placing it in ebay. AS won't accept a currency symbol like "$", and you can't have a comma. It has to be all numbers with one or no decimal point.
