That is true, Shop. Sorry it happened to you. A lot of the shisters play on your kindness for time..and then they play their game again on another unexpecting bidder. Frown It is better to register the complaint at maybe three weeks and cancel it if everything turns out alright, than to wait too long.

Insurance is always the answer, but sometimes it is not cost effective if the value of the good is low.

The answer in most countries is to get some sort of certifcate of posting. At least you then don't think the worst of the seller.

The converse problem is cash transmission to countries where sellers won't accept PayPal, Credit Cards or Money Orders. I have lost $60 to a German seller and I still don't know if he genuinely did not receive it or not. My advice here is to disguise the parcel as something else - try and hide the notes in a booklet - if you can wrap it in kitchen foil to avoid the mail scanning system discovering it is notes.
Always risky this!

Finally, being a miserable, humourless old git, would anybody like to join me in starting up an AS thread dedicated to hints and tips for the suppression of rotating, flashing and overlarge Gifs in the various forums?

Here in lovely down under land we *senders* can submit a *lost item* claim to Australia Post for up to $50. So I dont bother with insurance for items under $50...all you need to be able to do is prove you shipped it. If you dont have a receipt you can sign a Statutory Declaration saying what date and from where you shipped the item and its worth.

I had 3 claims in with Australia Post at this time. Eek

Hey Lexie, how are you? Smile That is kool. Wish we had that here. It cost us 1.30 for ins. up to fifty dollars, US mail. Either the sender or buyer can claim it but it takes forever and and a lot of paperwork. And, there is no insurance on many things going US mail out of the country.
