well? I got bored 1/2 way down that little lot. Perhaps someone could let me know what this person is on about? I see it as them having their password changed for some reason so that meant that AS couldn't log on.

Yep, and because of that the OP thinks ebay should verify the high bid with AS, then intervene with the seller and influence them to sell the item to the OP instead of the party that won the auction!?! The problem I see with that solution is that someone else actually won the auction. What would the seller tell them? "I'm sorry, but someone else offered me more money after the end of the auction"? Somehow I don't think that would go over too well. 
...contact the winner not the seller!

I did the same week I was having a little FUN with Mike and Paul Camera.
And Guys don't take it Personal, because I didn't.
The Winner of the Bid sold me the Magazine for the same Price he Paid, which was $ 3.00 and $ 4.00 shipping.
Catch 22. The Publication was listed with the WRONG DATE. It was not the Publication I was seaching six years to obtain. Correct Name, Wrong Date listed by seller. I added the purchased publication to my archive.

Honestly, I was more Outraged at initially losing the Bid than I was at any particular person.
Moreover, not receiving sufficient help from eBay. I thoroughly understand Policy.
As mentioned earlier, I've never had a problem with Auction Sniper not firing.
You Guys Ultimately should be able to Detect if someone is being disingenuous in reference to Bid Groups not firing or Bugs with Auction Sniper.
Again, my Experience with Auction Sniper has been above Reproach.
