Example - item at 30.00 by Bidder 1 who actually placed a Proxy Bid at 50.00

You snipe at 33.77 with no more bids.

Ebay then works its magic and Bidder 1 wins at 34.77

So, what appears to be Bidder 1 beating you by one increment is actually Bidder 1 bidding equal to or higher than 1 increment more than you. So you lose by what looks to be one increment.

However, if Bidder 1 had placed their original high bid as 33.76 then you would have won by 1 penny/cent. That's a great feeling!

Confused? Read up on Proxy Bidding on eBay's help and then you'll know all about it!
