I lost an ebay auction because of "Not in Time'
My Max bid was $32.00, it sold for $27.50

It says the reason why I lost was because the lead time was set too low or BELOW THE RECOMMENDED TIME OF 7 SECONDS.

My question/suggestion is that if 7 seconds is the recommended lead time, then why is 3 seconds set as the default?

I've never touched that option.
I just always thought that auctionsniper must know best. If they have it set for 3 sec, then that must be the safe amount of time.

Now I'm finding out that it's 7 seconds??!
Then CHANGE the default to that.

auction sniper should be looking out for their customers. They say that anything under 7 seconds is risky but then set the default to 3??

Time to make a change. Ya think?

We default all new users to a 7 second lead time. You can actually see this yourself if you try to sign up on the website.

Make sure you're signed out, and then hit the links on the homepage for "Sign up". Notice Step 3 of the signup form. It talks about lead times of 5 seconds, but in the edit box right below that, you'll see the default is 7.

Perhaps when you signed up, you set your account to default to 3 seconds?
