sometimes an upcoming bid needs to be canceled,
maybe because of change of mind, unreasonable
sales prices, and whatever.

i cant seem to do this: whichever way i click the
CANCEL button, the system freezes, and nothing
happens. i have tried dozends of times ... and
not just today.

i now use the MODIFY system and set the bid so
low that i lose for sure, but that cant be the
solution, no? i would rather free your resources
and CANCEL properly.

any suggestions?

heinz,

Two ideas:

1) Did you check "remember me" when you signed in? All kinds of strange things will happen if you don't.

2) There's two ways to cancel. You have a "Cancel" on each snipe, but you also can check the box next to the snipe and use the "Cancel" above the list of snipes next to "Checked items (all):". If you are doing "remember me", then try the other cancel.

Hope this helps.
hey, tks for the quick replies. new to the forum i am, yes, but with some 70+ succesfull snipes already, not really new to AS. thought i knew what i was doing. thought ...

yes, i have tried both methods of CANCEL, none worked. i have tried it on different computers, same. i made sure i was logged in properly (otherwise MY SNIPES would not come up anyhow, no?). same. how else can i doublecheck i am logged in correctly? in and out tried, several times.

am lost a bit. the one other thing with the same
(freezing) reaction is UPDATE. all my items still
have the same price as when i placed the initial snipe. whatever i do, cannot UPDATE.

a few hints might help: i am usually in the german
EBAY, can they use an ever so slightly different system/protocol? and, right after the click, the progress bar of IE6.0 starts moving a bit, then stops. as if it is looking/trying to hook up somewhere (EBAY ?), but cannot. timeout.

anybode with more ideas? have really tried some 50 times now.

UPDATE: just tried again. COMMENTS and MODIFY work instantly (comimg up with the same (?) screen anyhow), CANCEL / UPDATE / STATUS lead into nirwana. what i have noticed: using those buttons, the browers seems to execute some javascript line. can that one be just slightly off, or out of conventional limits? who at AS could tell? since i dont have anything similar anywhere else (heavily used laptop mainly, with
a full 60GB but for certain reasons WIN98SE), it can hardly be on my side. but let me try with another browser ... will get back soon.

Hi Heinz

I had a similar problem with "MY SNIPES" yesterday when I tried to edit the comment section on an item I was planning to snipe.

I got the same reaction you appear to be getting.
The progress bar would only move so far and then stop. Eventually it would just time out. I could not get the item to accept a comment. The other items were working fine.

After several repeated attempts, I finally deleted my sniped item and re-entered it.
When I went to edit the comment section, it worked like a charm.

You seem to be in some kind of similar loop that doesn't respond to your commands.

In my case, it was a simple matter of deleting and re-entering the snipe - in your case this seems to be the problem, you can't delete it.

I'm sure you have tried this, but I will offer it as a possible solution - have you tried to sign out and sign back in again?

Sorry if my advice is not helpful - I don't have a lot of expertise in these matters, so I'm afraid I don't have anymore suggestions for you. Frown

Heinz,

That's correct.

You need to click on "Update items info". It's above your list of snipes.

Don't think so. There's been several people posts about German auctions, and no one has said anything.

Click here to contact support: http://support.auctionsniper.com/

Expect 2 to 4 days before you hear from support. As an emergency plan, if you can't block a snipe by lowering the price, temporarily change you password in eBay. That will prevent AS from sniping. I know this is a hassle, but until you get this resolved it may give you some additional flexibility.

yes rick: thats the one that doesnt work either. see my listing above.

what i do at the moment: i set snipe 1 cent higher than the present offer. this will be accepted initially, but later shows up with an error that the bid-step is to low. just hope it works ... will let you know if tomorrow i own that private jet that nobody else wanted.

AS-support: i thought they check here too? so a response, together with the valuable ones from all of you, should be quicker. otherwise they end up with that jet!
