No message to seller

How can I switch off the message to seller option? Recently a seller canceled an auction because he received such a message. In the rules & conditions of Ebay Germany you will find a clause which prohibits the use of sniper software. I am sure the seller only learnt from the message that the bid came from auctionsniper.

Sorry - I found the answer in another post on the same page. But maybe it's interesting to learn for some of you, that Ebay Germany has rules differing from their US counterpart.

Klaus, how does Germany eBay know? How can they tell that software was used? Is it only software or is manual sniping prohibited too? What's the time-left cutoff point which makes a bid a snipe? One minute left? Thirty seconds? Thanks for any light you can shed on this.
