NO bid placed at all. Why??

Good question. It does not appear to have been closed early. What was your lead time and what does your snipe page say about it?

Just wondering what you told the seller.. You didn't tell him that your software didn't work right did you? The sellers are usually more willing to sell afterwards if you use the 'forgot to bid' excuse

I just told them that the bid didn't get placed. It has been relisted now. Guess I'll see if it will work this time.

If it is the same article by the same seller, it sounds like there was a glitch at Ebay, or something like that.

This loss was from the day eBay changed how bidding works. Something they hadnt done in years. It broke all sniping. We fixed things pretty quick but some snipes were missed before we found out about the change and made the update to our program.

Do you know how to view the confirmations on our site after the auction ends?

Change the drop down box that says "Show" on the my snipes tab to "Snipes I've Lost"

Then next to the snipe you lost click the "Confirmation" button.

That would show you this text from eBay:

The seller closed the auction early. That you can tell from the start/end time right on the eBay item itself. But out confirmation helped me figure that out.

Item 2577025068. If it's a Buy It Now and you want to snipe it, you need to bid on it to get rid of the BIN option. Otherwise anyone who's willing to pay the BIN price can come along and snag it right out from under you. I currently have two auctions that I'm the high bidder. They were BIN auctions and I bid the starting bid just to get rid of the BIN. I have my snipes set up just incase others bid in the meantime. If I had left the BIN in place and waited til the end of the auction to snipe, I very well could have lost them to someone else.

yup, I see now that if it has a BIN I must put in a bid to "hold" it. Thanks for your help. I have a bunch now that I had to do that to. Seems kind of wrong to have to up my own bid tho. Is there a way around this with the sniper?

A second bid from the same high bidder will up your max bid, but it will not up the price. You have no problem, you will not be bidding against yourself.

A quick solution to this is to actually manually bid the Buy it Now price - an unbeatable method in my experience!
