newbiue question about Maximum Bid and AS

since i'm new to this software, i have this question: Let's say that the Current bid is $300, but one of the bidders(other than me), placed a Highest Maximum bid of $800. But I have AS set to highest bid of $700, and let's say there are 10 seconds left to close, and AS tries to placed a higher bid for me...
What's gonna happen?

AS places a $700 bid (AS always places only one bid - your max) for you, and the $800 bidder wins the auction for $710.

It bids as if it was you - read up on proxy Bidding on ebay's help screens!
