Newbie question, RE: Buy it Now

There's a buy it now option on an item I'm sniping.

If someone uses that, no snipe is placed and I lose out on the item, right?

Just wondering whether to go ahead and buy it now..since the BIN price is my max bid anyway...

Hello -- !!

You could put in a "regular" low bid so that the Buy It Now option goes away (this is called BIN stomping) and then wait for your snipe to kick it at closing time.. you might save some money if no one else bids.

Depends where the price points are. If you stand to save significantly you might want to do this, but of course by doing so you reveal your interest in the item.

If the potential savings are small, you might as well just buy it now.
