I just did my first snipe (I think) I ran into this program at the site of one of the sellers. However, I had already placed a max bid on ebay on the item I want of 44.99 and then also placed that same bid as my max "snipe" Is this ok? What will happen. right now the max is 36.00 but what if it goes up to 44.99. what bid takes precidence? And what if it goes over the 44.99? I'm so-o-o-o-o-o confused! Help

Hi,
There is no point in leaving a snipe that is equal to or lower than the bid you have already left. If 44.99 is the maximum you want to pay, I would cancel your snipe. Otherwise you should set the snipe at the maximum you want to pay.

Rosetsu is right. Either cancel the AS or raise it to the highest you are willing to pay. Then from now on. Do not bid on Ebay. Just set your very max on AS and let it do the rest. That way you do not run the price up with a bidding war on Ebay. Then start reading the Help info with AS. Especially the BidGroup. I would suggest you read as many of the current and past topics here on the forum. Mrs M always has good advise. One of the greatest things besides non running up the bid and the bidgroups is the ability to cancel a bid up to 2 minutes ahead. You have no such option on Ebay.

did just that...started reading and have to agree that the forum gives a super amount of helpful advice. Went back and set my AS at my max and left the other where it was for now. Thanks for your prompt response to my questions...it's nice to know we're not alone out here!

No, you are never alone out here.
One hint. Do not let the sellers know you have the snipper. Do not put that message onto your AS profile. The sellers want the bid wars. Runs the prices up. If you let anyone know, let your frinds know and have them sign up references you. You can get some free snipes that way. ANYHOOOO, welcome and good sniping.
