Hi and Welcome to the forum Smile

Costs of snipes are :

* Auction won that ended at $25.00 or less = $0.25

* Auction won that ended between $25.01 and $499.99 = 1% of final price

*Auction won that ended at $500.00 or more = $5.00

It doesnt really matter if someone else has a 5 seconds lead time and is bidding on the same item as it is always the HIGHEST bidder that wins - not the last bid. If they happen to bid the same amount at the same time (unlikely but happens), the bid that was placed first wins. That is why we all recommend that you set a odd amount ie, $ 21.47 instead of $20.

I am sure your password will be safe with AS (Auction Sniper) as there are people that have been here for several years without any hassle.

Hope to see you around some more Smile

Hardly. There are many reasons why not everyone on eBay is a sniper, not the least of which is that eBay attracts thousands of new users a month.

AS is not new; it has been offering this service for two years, which is long, by internet standards. There are also many other sniper services, though none that compare, IMHO.

You will find AS to be a useful tool! I have used it successfully hundreds of times! Big Grin
And there are some people that think auctions are fun. They like to bid in little incrememnts instead of their max bids. (and I guess they like getting outbidded by snipers too?? Smile) There was one auction that I recently placed a manual bid on.. and another bidder placed 20! manual bids before outbidding me. Another collector had emailed her about this habit and she replied that she does it because she likes to Confused (Personally I think she is crazy)

You'd think, but eBay gets more sign ups in one day than we even have customers.

Since we have few ways to let all those new eBay users know about us I dont think it'll get to any point close to everyone using us.

We're already 30 million eBay users behind and growing Smile

ednayn,
I have recently discovered that I have a competitor sniper who bids on same type of items I collect and we even share a favorite seller.

It really does all boil down to who is willing to pay the highest price, it's not the last bid that wins but the highest.

So far they are out bidding me, but only because I'm trying to get stuff on the cheap. If I really want something, I win most of the time, because I'm willing to pay the price.
AS Rules!!! Eek Eek Eek

Well, Robert, that is kind of the way I snipe also. I figure "it ain't the only one"and usually another , sure enough, comes rolling down the pike and I win at much less than the first one. That, to me, makes it fun competition, not who can pay the most. I'ts a waiting game. Wink
