Auction Sniper bids work exactly as any other bids do. If AS places a bid on your behalf that is more than enough to outbid the current high bidder, then any remainder is held as a proxy bid, not by AS, but by eBay. The trick is to think of AS as an extension of yourself. All the eBay rules apply equally. Keep in mind that AS is software and cannot think. It will not cancel a bid or increase a bid of its own accord. Only you can do that.
there is a current bid of $10 for an item. i am willing to pay $20 dollars for the item, though the bid increment is only an additon of $.50. it comes down to the last 5 seconds and the current bid is still $10 (i am not the highest bidder), will AS...

A. bid for me with an aditional $.50 to get me in the lead of the bid
B. bid another $10 to put me in the lead therfor wasting $9.50

i have a bid ending in about a day and would greatly apreciate a quick answer!

thank you in advance
Sorry, friend, didn't see your earlier question. AS doesn't bid in increments. It bids whatever you've told it to bid at the time you want it to bid. So if a bid's at $10 and your maximum snipe bid is $20, AS will wait until the pre-set time before the close of the auction and bid all $20. This is why it's always advisable to enter your max bid, the absolute most you are willing to spend, when setting up a snipe. There's no time left for a sniper to change his mind.
It should be mentioned that if the item was at $10.00 with the 50 cent bid increment and we bid for you at say 5 seconds left and nobody else bid you'd win for $10.50 the same as you would on eBay.

If someone else bid say $13.00 at any time then you'd win for $13.50, etc.

Basically: It will never cost you more to use AuctionSniper, and may save you some, or pull out a win where a bidding war could have turned into a loss.

Thank you

i sent in the question to the help service before posting here and it confirms the last post. they wrote...

We use eBay‘s minimum bid increment rule. This is really the same as if you bid on eBay yourself.
