Can you give an exact time and the time zone you are quoting?

I wouldn't. Most of the last-seconds nibbling Yanks will be asleep, and it's not a peak time for ebay.

I'm in the northeast, and if I have the time calculated correct it ends around 9:18, which would be 6:18 pacific time. (I was a an hour or two off) I wish ebay would just convert the times for us.

If you snipe the item to go in 10 seconds before close it doesn't matter what your time zone is it will use ebay time and place the bid from the AS server 10 seconds before closing.

Place your snipe now "set it and forget it" and it will snipe on time

In that case 10 seconds is fine, but I use 8. I wanted to make sure it wasn't on the hour, quarter, or half.

Also, go to My Snipes..Modify Account and towards the bottom, you will see a place to set the time to your time.

Because at those times, Ebay has a lot of auctions ending at once from auctions that were scheduled. I use 8 seconds, but add 10 seconds if it ends then. I add 15 seconds on Sunday between 5:30 AND 8pm, PST because that is a normaly busy time. Most of us do two other things. Bid the max you want to pay and bid in an odd amount. Such as, 21.87 instead of 20.00. In modify accounts, at the top of My Snipes,, we turn off the insta mail feature. These are just personal suggestions.

Why bid in odd amounts? (I'm just full of questions, aren't I)

Many times, it is the odd amount that allows you to win.

The theory is that since most people bid even amounts, bidding odd amounts can sometimes allow you to win the auction by less than an increment. But, I’m not sure that’s valid any longer since so many people are odd bidders that bid oddly. Of course, that means one has to be an even odder bidder.
