You got lucky. 4 min is the lest, and on weekend nights and especially on Sunday. 12 sec is none too short. The only thing to remember is: The peron that bids the most money wins. It is that this AS is a way of putting your max in and not giving anyone a chance to come back with a higher bid. They may have already put in a higher bit and they will win. That is what happend on your earlier bids. You will find that the best thing is to set up bid group folders and then keep puting the gizmos into that folder at your max price. Sooner or later you will win at your price and not overpriced.

We recommend 8 secs on the forum, longer on Sunday eves. As mentioned, it's the highest bid that wins, not the last. AS just prevents a bidding war but you could still lose (read eBay's help on Proxy Bids). So, bid your max and walk away...
