Well us lucky Brits now have the new item page layout on ebay.co.uk - it arrived overnight. You can see it in action (instead of that mock-up fixed page) by swapping "cgi.ebay.co.uk" in place of "cgi.ebay.com" in your browser's address bar (even if it's a US-listed item).

I quite like it, but the feeling on the UK discussion boards seems to be overwhelmingly negative. There is one guy saying it is now more difficult to manually snipe ('cos there's no "bid history" page available until an item has bids) but I haven't tried any manual snipes yet. I assume AuctionSniper snipes are unaffected.

Perhaps you'll be getting the new style on ebay.com whenever the next weekly maintenance slot is for you (Friday daytime for us).

We had the actual new page, in real-time format for 2 to 4 weeks. There's a "see this item in ebay's new look for this page". The default is the old way.

I'm sure people won't like it for awhile. Always tough to get use to something new. But there's some things I like about. Off the top of my head, I like being able to place the bid without having to roll down, or click on something that rolls you down.

So thanks for the heads up.
heh heh, Big Grin, 90% of the negativity on the UK boards is sellers moaning about exactly what you're pleased with Rick - that buyers can now buy an item without having to scroll down past the seller's Terms & Conditions etc!

I didn't realise there had been a live preview on the US site for a while, we just got a static example new page, I think it was one for a laptop sale or something.

p.s. got hundreds of photos of San Francisco and the Bay Area taken in four sunny days in March, but no time to sort them all out yet Frown

One of the neat things about this forum is that I never know what's going to happen next. Here I am - doing my thing. Ian comes on and I'm talking to him in London.

Well Ian, you made my day. Spending all this time here doesn't put me in a higher tax bracket, so the entertainment is a kick. Big Grin

Thank's for the London offer, but I don't get out that much.
