It's too late for me to cancel and resubmit the snipe. When I try that, it says the eBay action already ended.
This is a very damaging April Fool's trick by a disgruntled employee or hacker.

Again we have someone who comes to this message board and "vents" his totally imaginative theories on the nature of things!
Why don't you, Sir or Madam, do what most sensible people do - read the existing thread on the subject first before going off like a Christmas cracker?
In it you will find a reasonable explanation for what happened.
I have a theory here, the less people think, the more they vent their spleen!
Perhaps there should be an intelligence test for board posting?

I've got "hanging snipes" in my Active folder. These auctions have already ended, yet when I click on "view confirmation" it always says there are 5,6 or 7 seconds remaining! I cannot delete or cancel these snipes. Will they be there forever??
I had the same thing happen as the OP - and now I can't remove the listing - and since it still has 19hrs to run, I want to put it back!
How can I fix this please?
I got an email saying I was the leading bidder - two days early when it should have been 7 seconds before the auction end.
That's ok - I cancelled the bid as wrong amount - but now I can't put the item back because it 'thinks' it's already anded and wont delete!

I'm sitting here looking at one of my snipes, that was indeed placed a day early, thus allowing another bidder to come in. The auction is not even over for 3 more hours, yet AS thinks it is, so it will not allow me to modify my snipe.
Clearly there is is some problem going on right now.

I noticed a number of posts on the forum from customers who have had snipes placed early and have consequently been unable to modify or delete those snipes. This is occurring because, once a bid has been placed in association with a given snipe, that snipe cannot be cancelled or modified. Therefore, if you need to increase your maximum bid for such an item, I recommend submitting your new maximum bid directly through the eBay website.
We certainly understand that this is a less than ideal situation to say the least, however, we have since modified our software to account for the formatting changes eBay made Monday afternoon, so you should not encounter similar problems with any new snipes that are entered.
