WOW, Rick! Our Archivist strikes again! Great job! Eek

Yes, a server is capable of placing multiple snipes ("snip" is what you do with scissors) simultaneously. Each snipe requires a certain amount of memory to set up the snipe command so the number of simultaneous snipes possible is a function of overall RAM. And servers have lots and lots of RAM -- terabytes of it.

Not a problem. As you point out, bid groups are the except because they need some time inbetween auctions, but that's because each snipe is dependent on the success, or failure, of the previous snipe(s).
Agreed. AS has multiple servers, each capable of placing simultaneous bids. You'd probably do fine with separate snipes under those circumstances. I'd be tempted, just to err on the side of caution, to space my bids one second apart, though. (This assumes that fewer than, say, 25 items will be bid upon in this fashion.)
I have sniped several auctions ending at the exact same second from the same seller with no problem on more than 1 occasion. One seller I deal with always has thousands of listings at any given time and apparently listed enmasse.
I remember one time I won 14 auctions from them that all ended at the exact same second. Big Grin

Per Sara, AS send thousands of snipes a day, and have few set up for the same time is not a problem for a computer/server.
