No, I only looked at the pictures in the paper (I don't own a tv), too many good books to read and too many good records to listen to to bother with "the vast wasteland"

Can't say I'm familiar with that one old boy. I do heartily recommend the Telarc 1979 recording with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Symphony, however. It comes with a "health warning" for your speakers because of the real cannon (not recommended for headphones).

By Jove, for real classical "heavy metal" though (take note GG), it's hard to beat Stokowski and the London Symphony performing Wagner, what!
