A friend of mine just got out of the hospital -

Had a brain tumor removed - went in on Tuesday, and home on Thursday - his doctor even considered letting him go home on Wednesday!

Just hard to imagine - chipped a hole in his skull, removed the tumor, filled the hole in with some "skull spackle" (that's the techhnical term I think) and let him go home in less than 48 hours.

And he feels fine...

Just amazing

Glad to hear your friend is doing well!

Isn;t technology great? Sometimes I think it is and then other times I have to wonder. My daughter just had her gallbladder removed - same day -in and out! The scars that she will have will look like small scratches - mine looks like a road map to Hades!

I guess I'm a little old fashioned - anybody having surgery needs a few days in the hospital just to make sure that everything really is OK.

I also have to wonder if the reason doctors are doing the in and out thing is because of the various insurance companies, saying that they will only pay for a few days a year!

Crafty, I agree! A friend of mine had an in and out surgery a couple of years ago because that's what the insurance said was necessary. She died two days later of a blood clot.
