Missed snipe due to wrong password?

I updated my account yesterday WITH my new ebay password and set a snipe. I lost this auction this morning when it tried to snipe due to a wrong password.

How could this happen when I put in the new password yesterday? I also changed to my updated credit card, which I did update. Now I've lost an auction I really needed to win.

Please tell me how this happened.
