So since I'm a total dummy can anyone clarify if my max bid what auction sniper will bid when the time comes or will auction sniper bid only the minimum needed?
Wait, so if I set my max at say $500 to make sure I have enough legroom at crunchtime, and a bid of $300 would take the auction ... you're saying that AS will bid the $500? That doesn't seem right to me.
Ebay will only charge you the amount needed to win the auction not necessarily your bid.
If you put in an ebay bid (or auction sniper snipe) of $1,000 and the only other bid is $4 Ebay will only charge you $4.50, just enough to win the auction.
Read up on proxy bids on ebay. AS bids as if it was you so it bids you max once. ebay then handles the bid using the proxy system...
And don't bid whole dollars/pounds - add a few cents/pence (eg. 1000.01) as this means you could win against another proxy bid of the whole amount (ie. 1000.01 could beat 1000.00) so you will win by one cent/pence!
