Motorhead,

If you are using AS, you shouldn't be placing proxy bids. It defeats the purpose of sniping. When you snipe, you don't want to let others know you're interested in the item. Decide what the maximum amount you are willing to pay, and then use that as a snipe. PLEASE don't leave a proxy bid. Let AS do the work.

A couple of questions for you:
1) Do you want any advice on your 3 loses?
2) Do you want any advice on lead times?
3) Do you have any other questions?

You took off - bummer. 2 minutes - I was hoping I had a live one.

>> Or is it that the High Proxy amount will always win a MAX BID? << - Auctions on ebay are determined by who the highest bidder is (excluding bid increment - we have a resident guru named Andrew that handles tough questions in this area). If a sniper is the highest bidder, then the sniper is the winner.

>> I won my 1st, but have lost 3......<< - That's only because someone was willing to pay more for the item then you were. Keep using AS to place your snipes. In a couple of weeks you'll kick yourself for not using it sooner.

OUTSTANDING! - You got it.

If you run into problems with Snipe It, you can always place a snipe on the "My Snipes" tab. Also, from the "My Snipes" tab you'll see "Import Wizard". This is so cool - this niffy little feature will actually import everthing on your ebay watch page and let you select the auctions you want to snipe. You don't have to actually place a snipe - so try it. It's a really amazing option.

Let me know if you have more questions. And - good luck. Wink

One small correction : >> 4, Hopefully WIN!!!! << - Change that to >> 4, More likely WIN!!!! << Wink. As a sniper you have a much better chance of winning the auction, and a much better chance of winning it at a lower price.

Maybe you will indulge me - tells us what happens. If you don't win, tell us. There's several sniper specialist here, and they can give you some great pointers. We snipers usually win, and most of the times when we don't it because we didn't follow the tried and proven methods of sniping.

Motorhead, you can adjust the amount and/or timing of your snipe from the AS main snipe page without being logged on to eBay. AS maintains a constant connection with eBay through its several servers.

On an earlier topic, you may wish to check out the bidding pattern and timing of your competitor through eBay's "Search/by Bidder" function. That can give you valuable insight in determining your max bid.

Good luck, and I look forward to seeing you get back on the winning track. Smile
