max bid in last seconds

Not sure how to write this....

I am looking at an auction where the current bid is $225

I have set a max bid of $500
I know someone who also has set a max bid on the same item.
In the final seconds, if the bidding is still @ $225, will my snipe bid go right to my max with another sniper going for the item, or will we both only go up in incriments, and at the end the high bidder wins.
I guess I am hoping that even with 2 bidders sniping the item, it just wont max out. It be nice to get the item fro $250 thanks folks

AS will place only one bid for you, and that’s the amount you requested - $500 in your case. ebay will determine who the winner is and the winning price based on their bidding system and their established increments.

If he should end up bidding $495, you'll win the auction at $500, assuming no other bidders.
