Max Bid ? I did not win

I have been using your service for over a year now and till now I have never had a problem. But I recently tried winning some auction and on two of them my max bid was higher then the winning amount on ebay. Here are the auction numbers in question

1)3070930412--winning amt 15.50 my max 15.99
2)3069654189--winning amt 9.50 my max 9.99

As mention on both my max bid was over the winning amount, is there a problem with bids.
I really needed one of these items, what is going to be done now. Thanks

ebay bid increments got you.

$5 - $24.99 increment is $.50.

And, of course, you don't know what the high bidders' max bids were.

As Rick pointed out what the bid increments are at that bid level, you would have been able to get your bid placed if you had ADDED a few cents instead of subtracting from the even dollar amounts. ($16.03 instead of $15.99, $10.02 instead of $9.99) Keep that in mind next time.
There's still no guarantee that you would have won though -- the winning bidders MIGHT have placed $20 & $15 bids on the items!

That and this may be rhetorical questions: Is there something unique about the items in that auction?

I did a search on each item, and it seems there's others. I'll admit I didn't spend a lot of time researching.
