when i snipe an auction, and i place a max bid, does auctionsniper tell ebay what my max bid is? or does it just try to outbid the other bidder by the minimum amount?
AS places your max bid, just like you would (or should) at eBay. eBay then does the proxy thing and uses only enough of your bid to get/stay in the lead and win.
The end result is that you'll only pay just enough to beat the other guy. So if you put in a high maximum and the other person doesn't you win. And you only have to pay just a little more than them, not your whole amount.
