AHHHH the old snipe not placed message. One circumstance that you get this message is if the maximum for your Snipe is less than the current value of the auction. In that case AS does not place a bid since it would be too low. DOes that help? like the others mentioned more info about the auction like the Ebay# timing of bids, if the final amount was higher than your maximum snipe. There are many factors. Snipe ON my friend. Cool
Can you provide the item #, and let me know if the snipe was part of a bid group.

eBay appears to have made a change of some sort late on Tuesday and we're trying to figure it out. The vast majority of snipes are still going fine, but a small % are not. Anything that could help narrow down why those arent would be helpful in us getting it fixed faster.

It could just be that things are normal and we just cant detect wins/losses correctly so I dont want to panic anyone, but we're unsure but have a small % of snipes showing as getting no known result from eBay after we snipe. Since they are unknown we cant tell if you won, lost, eBay didnt accept it or whatnot. We should have it figured out within a few hours with a little help.
I had my lead time set to 12 seconds for an auction that ended today and my max bid was like 50 bucks on item 3252000380 but it sold for 18! I was in shock. When I checked the history of my snipes it says "Did not win", which to me was pretty obvious anyway. The question is, WHY didn't I win? This 12 second lead time has been working just fine for me for months. And who would have thought that on a Wednesday(not Sunday) that something like this would happen? Any help or suggestions? Thank you.

eBays site changed earlier today. A small % of snipes were missed. This was one of their first changes reguarding how bids can be placed that I've ever seen in many years. We made an update to handle their change and everything is working normal again.

You can receive free snipes for any that were missed here:
http://www.auctionsniper.com/freeSnipes.aspx

This was a major change in how they accept bids and we were happy our system was so well programmed to make this a trivial fix. We appologize for any snipes that were missed, please use the URL above to claim any free snipes for those auctions.

Thank you
Your max bid was $75, not $85.

Change the "Show" drop down box on the My Snipes tab to "Snipes I've Lost" and you'll see.

Next you're going to tell me that you changed it to $85. Hmm, I don't think so. At least not the correct way which is to use the Edit button next to your snipes that are ready to snipe. You can't use the "Add a snipe" box to increase your bid. You have to edit the snipe. A lot of people try to just use the Add a snipe box and type in the higher price. That doesnt work. A red error message even comes up saying it didnt work. But nobody reads, nobody looks for red error messages across their screens I guess.

I'm not sure that's what you did, but if you were going to tell me you changed your bid from $75 to $85, then that's what happend.

I also had a snipe set for yesterday and it didn't win. Report status says Ready and nothing else, just like others in this thread. I could have easily won, because the maximum bid was half of what I had as a maximum and my leadtime was 8 seconds, which is usually enough.

Does all of this mean that snipes might be less reliable? Has Ebay found a way to filter them out? I am a bit concerned to leave my bidding to the sniper if Ebay really has made big changes.
