Lost Auction - no reason given

Hi, A bit annoyed as I have just lost an auction that I had a snipe on and would like to know how this could have happened if possible. I had the AS website open and was watching the last seconds countdown and to my horror it progressed to zero then minus and still the bid was not launched. Eventually got an unsuccessful bid email from AS, clicked on the "Click here to see eBay's response to your snipe" link and was returned to the AS site with a blank response. This is the very first time anything like this has happened
