Hi,
Has this ever happened to anyone? I was surprized
that I lost last night on my snipe because my bid would have been 5.00 more than the ending price plus my bid was never placed.!?
The auction ended 5.00 less than what my auto-bid was...I wrote to Customer Support today and I have not heard from them yet.

At least I did win on an item that I wanted
but this other one would have made 2 great wins.

Still can't figure out what happened unless there
was a hardware problem at auction sniper but
Until I hear from Customer Service... I'm in the dark.

HAS ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN THAT A BID WAS NOT PLACE AND NOT DUE TO MY AMOUNT BEING LOW IT WAS
HIGHER!?!?!? than the ending bid....Confusion reigns supreme...Hahha

Three bids failed to be placed for me last night, too. I think it must have been an AS hiccup. Try as the support folks may, and they DO try hard, every once in a while something unexpected will happen and a few bids will go down the tubes until they get whatever it is fixed. This has been true of any sniper software I've ever had.

You're not rated as a "Junior Sniper" because of a lack of experience, coffee-bean. You get to be a full-grown "Sniper" when you've posted at least 15 comments to the various chat options. There's also something known as a "Guest Sniper" for folks who comment even though they haven't signed on with AS. At the present time, those are the only AS designations.

This system is great but the lost snipes got me
wondering Do you have to monitor something
you "just Have to have" just in case? Although I don't know how you could do that not knowing
when the failures might occur and with 5 or 7 seconds to go you could really mess up... Confused
Hi-In response to coffee bean-I missed a snipe today @ 2:45 MTN. time. And several others 2 days ago when everybody was having problems.Still glitches in hardware at Auction Sniper? I got a response from A.S. as an e-mail,but status,summary & suggestion fields were all blank. Any suggestions?
The last time this happened it was because a major piece of hardware that wasn't supposed to fail, did. You'll be given credits for the auctions you missed sooner or later. I've already received mine.

Coffee-bean, this kind of problem doesn't crop up all that much, but if you really, really want to make sure that a bid is placed on something, set up a manual snipe that equals or exceeds the amount you've set up on AS. Enter it a few seconds before the AS snipe is placed. It'll cost you a snipe fee but it's worth it. I mean, how bad can a maximum fee of a couple of bucks hurt ya?

I checked your account and see that all of your snipes went off today. The only snipe that there was any indiciation of a trouble was one that was "Not in Time", and the only reason for this was because the seller ended the auction early.

"The seller ended this listing early because the item was lost or broken."

If you feel that there is a snipe that I have overlooked which was not placed, please send us an email. It would help if you could please include an item number.

Coffeebean, did you ever find Adams post "This Weekend"?
It is on this board. Just look under Topics to find it.(It has an "arrow" icon) Adam has posted a link that will credit your account for any snipes that went haywire this weekend.
I sure am glad we are back in business, I can't live without my Auction Sniper, if they ever go public, I'm buying stock. Auction Sniper Rules!!! Eek Eek Eek

Whats going on? I lost on another auction last night due to the bid Not being placed.
PLUSI log in this morning and my Account and its bids are gone...as in not there ...invalid...
My account, my bids everything..
Someone please let me know what is happening.
If I want to lose items I could do this all on my own.. this is twice in one week. Now my accounts on Auctionsniper have just disappeared???
I had to sign up again...and now I get an error
message the name and pass are correct. What I did was RE_REGISTER under my original name and added the 4 snipes again...BUT WHAT HAPPENED???? Eek

now it recognizes the posts... i had to hurry and add 4 of my auctions and again I LOST on that
darn item and someone walked away with it for 3.00 lousy dollars worth was (50.00)I cannot BELIEVE this is happening.

Regarding your response for my auctions. The auction I lost on was Not ended early and My bid was Never placed. I also had a bid Not placed
last night and lost on another one.
The reason I know is because I have them on
"watch" on my ebay account and there is no reason other than hardware failure that I should have lost on these now 2 items.
Is this going to continue to occur?? To lose on the one last night was crushing...the ending price
and I wanted it for a gift...unreal..
Sorry to hear of the trouble.
And your dissapointment in the loss of the item to someone who only bid $3, I'd be just a little steamed also.
I do hope the problems get fixed soon, AS is such a great service.
I haven't been to active since the weekend, so haven't experenced any problems but know what it is like to think you have an auction "in the bag" and then wind up with your bid gone in a puff of smoke.
But as they say there are inherent risks in snipeing no matter how you do it.

Please check the snipe confirmations before claiming that a snipe was never placed. This is what the confirmation says for that item:

User ID or Password invalid

Either the User ID "(your-email-here)" is not a registered eBay user, or the Password is incorrect. Please go back and try again. Make sure you are not entering a blank space before, after, or inside the User ID or Password.
