What's happening? I've lost 2 auctions today even though I had the highest bid - one by $55 more than the winning bid. My bid was never placed. One loss just happened a few minutes ago. Not only that, all the items in my bid group are canceled - even though I didn't win the item. What's going on here? The most recent item is: Item # 3269372063 and my bid was $281.00. Here is the bid sheet.

I have 2 folders and there is a win in each of them - one from yesterday that was placed correctly and one from 2002 that I didn't delete. The strange thing is that when the bid doesn't get placed the item moves to the bottom of the bid group and all the other items are cancelled. Then I have to re-do the items in the bid group again. I haven't sniped in a year and it took a while yesterday to figure out why a group bid wasn't placed in the correct folder even though it was chosen when the bid was placed. It's upsetting because both these bids would have been the highest but were still reasonable for the item.

Sounds like you made the same mistake I did with my first bid group .... Don't RE-USE them! When you set the bid group up, you initially set the number of items you want to 'win'. Once that number is reached, if you put more items into the bid group it won't bid because it's already won the number of items it thought you wanted.

I suggested to AS that they auto-delete bid groups once the user wins the desired number of objects, just to avoid this problem [feature?] Smile

Hi pat,

Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, but just to make sure....

A bid group is for bidding on many like items and only winning 1 or 2 or however many you want, like 1 printer ribbon out of 6 entered, or 2 pillows out of 10 auctions. It is possible to update the items you want to win count, but I agree with bjones... delete that bid group when you're done with it, and make a new one.

If you want to bid on all those gizmos and not delete any, ever, leave them in My Snipes. (or) You can still make a folder, but DON'T make it a bid group, like a printer ribbon, and a camera, and a travel clock, ect...
