Losing snipes with strange reason.

I have lost an snipe which is frustrating me.
In this occasion i received the notice not won! when the winning bid was below my snipe price.
What is the reason for this?

When you are in a different Country to the seller it is often worth making an initial small bid to check if bids from outside the seller's Country are acceptable. Then if you get a refusal of the bid you have time to contact the seller and make bidding arrangements.
