Go ahead with your poll Jabber - even the damn sonographer cant decide what I am having. Razz

Christine - I am going OK, we have just been down to Melbourne to take Tyler to Santa's Kingdom and then to the Zoo...wasnt the smartest idea, but I wanted to get down there before it got REALLY hot and I could still waddle a little.

Needless to say, Santa isnt any less scary this year than he was last year, but Tyler quite enjoyed the elves and Santa's Village.

Mrs M - I have 4 weeks to go..4..very..long..weeks!! Wink and a sick Toddler.

For the record, I am due on the 6th, missed Tyler's due date by 34 minutes and have monster babies Big Grin
Christine - we have *kinda* decided on names, we have 2 picked out for a girl and nearly 1 picked out for a boy.

Boys names are hard to pick, its funny, American place names are quite popular over here at present for babies names...but it feels weird having one of them when you have Yanks in the family.

Unknown to me, one of the girls names I suggested (its in our final 2) is an American place name. Confused

Jab - well according to the sonographer, I might not be having a monster this time, so they are going to let me *try* naturally, rather than selecting a birth date.

I really wanted to pick Tyler's, then he would of been a 03.03.03 baby, but that wasnt too be.

New Year's baby would be cool, knowing the birth date would certainly make organising a babysitter alot easier. Wink
Names are difficult, you have to think of the teasing factor, the initials factor and then some have family tradition to think of.

Being the 14th great grandchild and 8th grandchild, all the family names (that are any good) and all used up, well, there is Berryl, but that AINT happening.

I think we are pretty set with names for a boy or a girl now, although it appears that one of my boy names is an American place name too ;p

Now "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll Llantysiliogogogoch" can proudly join other famous names on the world wide web.

Residents of the village - whose name means St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St Tysilio of the red cave - now hope that visitors from all over the world will be able to learn more of their community.

Stunt

The village is no stranger to self-promotion - the name itself was a publicity stunt.

Until the 19th century the village on the island of Anglesey was known as Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll (St Mary's church near the pool by the white hazels).

But with the advent of the railways and the development of a line between Chester and Holyhead, a local committee was formed to devise ways of attracting trains and tourists to the area.

Unfortunately, it is not clear who actually came up with the new name, but it is thought to be the invention of a cobbler from nearby Menai Bridge.

The village now retains its original name on sign posts, but it is known in Wales as Llanfair PG.

With the latest internet venture, it is clear the tradition of finding new ways of attracting visitors to the village has not waned.

If you go to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch and ask nicely, the lady at the tourist information office will pronounce the name of her town. She gets asked that question at least 30 times a day. Originally the town had a shorter, easier to pronounce name: Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.
In the 1880s, in a joking attempt to attract tourists, a tailor added the rest of the syllables, bringing the total length to 58 letters.

Well now the longest Longest URL Address in the world is really going to make people visit the town.
