Several of us recommend 8 to 10 seconds lead time. Lots of users are happy with 5 and less, but if you're sniping something very important, make it 8 or more. Ebay slows up at different times. AS tries to compensate, but they can't always make the correct adjustment. For Sunday evenings (prime time) members recommend 15 to 30 seconds.

Hope you win! Wink
I would advise you to be careful & present if possible the item i lost on a 4 sec lead the bid actually went in at 13sec to go.way to early the guy re-bidded.Which brings up another question have lead time gotten "longer"

btw remember if its important to you someone else feels the same way only question is are the w8n to snipe it ?
BID LATE ,BID YOUR MAX !! thats all you can do.

peace !!
How do you know that you lost because someone place a snipe in response to your snipe. Isn't it more likely they were using a service like AS?

It means snipes immeditately before yours took eBay at least an extra 5 seconds to process because eBay was running slowly.
It's meant to keep users from losing snipes because they were late. Which would happen if we didnt do this and eBay kept running slowly.

We cant control eBays speed and they slow up and down all the time. It is most dramatic on Sunday when they are most busy. It is better to do this than to miss snipes completely.
