Just remember, bid the ABSOLUTE max you want to pay....you need to find the amount between ...."DOH! I would of paid that!" and "ARGHH!! I cant believe I paid that much"!!!

This is the golden rule that is often learnt the hard way, as you only get 1 chance. If you lose the auction you have to be content with losing as you didnt pay more than you wanted to and the winning had deeper pockets.

Also, make your bid an odd amount, like $50.67 or $101.26, you may find you win by a few cents rather than using a whole bid increment or losing all together.

Set increments probably happens more on proxy bidding, because a proxy bidder can, and often does, place multiple bids. With sniping, the bidder only has one shot, so more attention is given to these kind of details. Wink
