eBay allows sellers to sell items that finish exactly on the hour - many do. These are the ones that sometimes cause AS to have to extend lead times or even AS users to add on a few seconds as a safety margin. I've not heard of any problems on auctions that end nearly on the hour - if it is slow then AS should adjust it for you. Report back and let the forum know...

Jumping in here ... long time sniper ....need help .. item # 5554243241 ... i have a 7 sec lead time on this and it looks like sniper placed my bid at 48 seconds ... i went back and checked the "lead" and it was 7 .... i was outbid, but am puzzled by the lead time sniper posted... i am bq_karen ... thanks to anyone who can explain .. thanks, BQ
thanks rick, still don't get it .. it wasn't sunday night .... i've completed tons of perfect snipes, absolutely perfect .. so i can't understand how this happened ... and it just totally didn't place a snipe i placed 6 minutes before end ... my bid would have won ... 2 times in one day is causing me very much concern and lack of the confidence in AS ... can't imagine ebaying without it, but am truly mistified ... this last one is the killer .. both of todays actions have NEVER happened before ...

The Auction ended 06-Feb-05 18:30:00 GMT so it was a Sunday evening here in the UK! As AS does adjust the lead time when things are slooooooow then that's what must have happened. Doesn't explain how to other snipers managed to get in after you though. Take some solice from the fact that they almost certainly were automatic bids rather than reactions to yours or each others - they just wanted it that little bit more than you.
